I'm thinking Edmonton may be a good trade partner for Buffalo with Miller and Eberle as the key pieces to building the trade

Edmonton needs to fix their defense before even considering a new goalie. Once their defensive issues are resolved we will see if Dubnyk is the #1 or not. I think he is, just no support from the rest of the team.

Ideal return is a young roster player with a lot of upside - say, two to three years away from hitting prime, and some mix of picks and roster players.

Depending on what Minny does with Backstrom they could be a good mix. They have a lot of interesting prospects. Maybe a Granlund.

I wasn't saying it would be one-for-one...read my comment...they would be key pieces in putting a trade together

Should they move him? Yes.

Where to? Whoever offers the best package ... unless Miller would rather go to some other team interested in trading for him, in which case Regier deals him there as a "thank you" for all of his years of service in Bu- ....... er, wait, I thought we were talking about some other Buffalo goalie that was available while Regier was GM.

Think again. Edmonton wants nothing to do with Miller or his contract. And especially not for Eberle....

Maybe Miller to TO for Kadri, Bozak and a pick....

Geeez...

Are you all forgetting that there is a cap going DOWN this year? Miller is not attractive to too many teams with his 6 million hit for a poopty attitude and middle of the road numbers the past couple years.

I don't see much of a market for him. If Philly buys out Bryz, possibly. Possibly Colorado? After that?

As I said, everybody on Edmonton is untouchable.

Now, who wants Hemsky for four 1st round picks?

I think Colorado would rather spend that money on improving their D-core, especially since Varlamov cost them so much and has shown flashes of being more than capable despite playing behind a bad D-Core.

If we get a new GM in the off-season maybe it would work out. Our chances seem slimmer lately of getting Jones at the draft unless we A) Trade and move up B) Win the lotto and get him that way. I don't know the free agent market for Dmen this off-season but yes agreed we need help on D and I personally like Varlamov but can't say no to Miller.

I think they should move him because he'll bring a great off-season return. That said, I'm always leery of pjnning your hopes on a goalie that has never carried a full workload before (Bernier, Enroth).

Only problem is that apparently Miller's struggles in Buffalo at times have been due to bad defense, I don't see that changing if he got dealt to Colorado. He'd probably be very inconsistent just like Varlamov is now. IMO Colorado will need to get creative, which probably means making a trade or two to improve the defense.

They have no money left to spend, however.

Embattled Goalie swap, Miller for Bryz?

Would be funny to watch that one shake out.
